Zibagwe constituency worried over early marriages, drug abuse.

By Munyaradzi Gurajena in Chirumanzu ZANU-PF Midlands Province Women's League Chairwoman, Tsitsi Zhou (MP) conducted a thank you rally in Chirumhanzu Zibagwe were she bemoaned early marriages and drug abuse amongst youth. In her Keynote address Zhou called upon the community to join forces in mitigating factors which fuel early child marriages. "As a people and as women we are not spared from challenges being faced by women in Chirumhanzu Zibagwe. "Early childhood marriages are a menace  not leaving the issues of drug and substance abuse and corruption which have affected our community." She added. The Provincial Chairwoman however thanked His Excellency for the solar powered borehole drilled in ward 4 Chirumanzu Zibagwe Constituency that has become a major lifeline in the area. 

Xavi to leave Barca

Judiciary's adherence to constitutionalism key safety pillar to society

By Moses Gurajena in Harare Continuous Assessment Learning Activities (CALA) model is lined for changes to remove the burden on learners, teachers and parents. The Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, Torerai Moyo said curriculum changes are set to be implemented as early as February 2024 following the CALA curriculum review exercise which was completed recently. “As a Ministry, we got complaints from parents who were saying they were doing assignments for their children. Theoretically CALA is good, there is nothing wrong with it but l think it was done haphazardly,” said the Education minister. “You find a student in Grade Seven doing 27 CALAs, how then (at this rate) do we insist on quality education? The warning comes in the wake of recent flooding incidents that have claimed lives and caused damage to infrastructure, particularly affecting low-lying areas and houses situated in wetlands. Experts attribute this erratic weather pattern to the ongoing El Nino phenomenon impacting the Sub-Saharan Region. Gweru Juvenile robbed by armed gang Munyaradzi Gurajena in Gweru Gweru- Police have confirmed a report of a robbery which occurred in Gweru Light Industrial Site on 10 January around 1230 hours where a female juvenile was robbed of cash and a cellphone.   Midlands Provincial Police Spokesperson, Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the development and said  police are appealing for information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect.  "We are appealing to members of the public who might have information that might lead to the arrest of Praise Ngirazi, Blessed Ngirazi, Aggripa Mwale, Baba Letty and Manhonga who are implicated in this robbery of gold ore to approach any police station."  25 injured in Gokwe-Kwekwe RTA Staff reporter Kwekwe- Police confirm a fatal road traffic accident where one person died on spot while twenty-five (25) others escaped with various injuries. The accident occurred along Kwekwe-Gokwe road on 31 December 2023 at around 1725 hours.  Two motor vehicles, a Mazda B1800 and Nissan Caravan  were involved . It is believed that Oswell Gumbo (51) of Mbizo, Kwekwe was driving a Mazda B1800 pickup due west along Kwekwe-Gokwe road. He had no passengers on board.  The other driver Lovemore Chikarara was driving a Nissan Caravan in the opposite direction towards Kwekwe with twenty five passengers on board.   2024: Midlands Police nabs 5 suspects for armed robbers By Munyaradzi Gurajena in Gweru Gweru- Rural district Police has made in-roads in dealing with cases of robberies and unlawful entry and Thefts that had racked havoc, leaving the public in a panic mode. Their efforts have led to the arrest of a total of five suspects between 5 and 7 January 2024. Some of the cases were committed during the period spanning from December 2023 to date. First to be arrested were four suspects, now linked to at least 11 armed robberies which occurred in Mkoba North High density residential suburbs and Ngamo areas under ZRP Nehanda and Gweru Rural policing areas respectively.   The gang was sold out by an attempted murder case where Joseph Musa (20) and Mandlenkosi Ndebele (18) stabbed their victim, Melody Nhongo aged 26 at Ngamo Business Centre, Gweru, with a knife. Zvishavane woman kills baby

 Zvishavane woman (23)  kills ,bury infant in secrecy. Tinaani Nyabereka Zvishavane-  a 23 year old woman allegedly killed her newly born baby and buried the body in a shallow pit. This happened on 29 December 2023 at about 1700 hours at village Mabhara, Chief Mapanzure in Zvishavane. Allegations are that Odeta Nyakabawo who was pregnant and employed as a house maid in Village Mabhara, under Chief Mapanzure, in Zvishavane informed her workmate Thembisani Ndlovu (27) that she was having labour pains, while seated in the kitchen. She went on to give birth to a live baby girl at around 1730 hours and was seen taking the baby, wrapped in a blanket, to her bedroom.  It is alleged that at around 1800 hours on the same day, she suffocated the baby to death by covering her with a blanket.
