 25 injured in Gokwe-Kwekwe RTA Staff reporter Kwekwe- Police confirm a fatal road traffic accident where one person died on spot while twenty-five (25) others escaped with various injuries. The accident occurred along Kwekwe-Gokwe road on 31 December 2023 at around 1725 hours.  Two motor vehicles, a Mazda B1800 and Nissan Caravan  were involved . It is believed that Oswell Gumbo (51) of Mbizo, Kwekwe was driving a Mazda B1800 pickup due west along Kwekwe-Gokwe road. He had no passengers on board.  The other driver Lovemore Chikarara was driving a Nissan Caravan in the opposite direction towards Kwekwe with twenty five passengers on board. On approaching 2km, it is suspected one of the motor vehicles encroached into the others lane resulting in a head-on collision.  Oswell Gumbo was trapped in his vehicle and died on the spot.ZRP Kwekwe traffic attended the scene and took the dead body to Kwekwe General Hospital.  Twenty five (25) passengers from the Nissan...

Judiciary's adherence to constitutionalism key safety pillar to society

By Munyaradzi Gurajena in Gweru "The nation should feel protected by the judiciary' adherence to the concept of constitutionalism."  These were the remarks of Jusice Evangelista Kabasa at the official opening of the Gweru High Court Circuit this week Addressing stakeholders, Kabasa said, the judiciary comes to ensure that justice prevails amongst citizens. "The purpose of the judiciary is to ensure justice is done ,not only to victims and their loved ones but to the offenders as well. "As i cite the deputy chief justice's remarks, those who live in the state of harmony with society must feel protected by the judiciary's adherence to the concept of constitutionalism.
