It is believed ,Tendai Dube (17) was walking along 2nd street, Gweru when she met two female adults selling school jerseys. She approached the two, intending to buy a jersey.
The ladies asked Tendai Dube to accompany them to their warehouse in Gweru Light industry so that she could choose the jersey. They boarded a black Honda fit which was being driven by a man, to take them to the Light industrial site.
Upon reaching Gweru Light industry, one of the females produced a knife, and threatened to stab Tendai if she made any noise. They went on to blindfold her using a cloth and forcibly took her handbag containing cash US$70-00 and a Hisense cell phone.
They then pushed Tendai out of the vehicle and drove away. Total value stolen is US$150-00.
In another case, a 25 year old man was robbed of gold ore, two chisels, four pound hammers and a shovel all valued at US$689-00.This happened on 10 January 2024 at about 0100hours at Refuse Mine in Shurugwi.
It was reported that Tawanda Munzazvi (25) and his friend Ian Sibanda (28) were at their mine when five men emerged from a nearby bush armed with Columbia knives and surrounded them.
It is alleged one of the suspects took away Tawanda Munanzvi’s torch and instructed them to remain seated while threatening to stab them. They phoned a man they called Baba Letty who arrived driving a silver Pajero motor vehicle.
They loaded some of the gold ore into the vehicle and two men went away with the motor vehicle, leaving the other four guarding the duo and the remaining ore. They returned after a few minutes, loaded the remaining ores, and took two chisels, four pound hammers and a shovel.
